1952年出生於香港。
1995至2007年移居加拿大。
1971及74年先後畢業於香港美術專科學校及大一藝術設計學院。
1976至79年任教於香港美術專科學校。
1985至1994年任教於大一藝術設計學院。
1979年創辦山月畫室至今。曾舉辦9次個人畫展及參加九十餘次聯展於香港、中國、澳門、台灣、
日本、韓國、星加坡、馬來西亞、印尼、泰國、法國、美國、及加拿大等地。
1988及1994年出版作品集。
現任香港當代藝術家協會召集人及創會會長，星期一工作室會員及加拿大藝術家聯盟簽署會員（AFCA）。曾任香港現代水彩畫協會會長、匯彩美術會會長、香港美術家協會理事。作品曾入選香港藝術雙年展、中國全國美展。
1998及2001在加拿大獲多個公開比賽獎項。
Chan was born in Hong Kong in 1952. He immigrated to Canada from 1995 to 2007. He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy of fine Arts, and the First Institute of Art and Design in 1971 and 1974 respectively. He later founded the Des Montagnes Studio in 1979. He was an instructor at the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Arts from 1976 to 1979; a lecturer at the First Institute of Art and Design from 1985 to 1994. Chan is an active artist. Since 1971, he has held nine solo exhibitions and over ninety group exhibitions in various Asian countries as well as France, Canada, and the USA. At present, he is a full time artist accomplished in watercolor, oil, pastel and drawing. He published his catalogues in 1988 and 1994. He is the founding president of the Hong Kong Contemporary Artists Association. Meanwhile, he is a member of the Hong Kong Monday Visual Arts Association, and is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA). He was the former president of the Hong Kong Modern Art Society of Watercolours and the Art Combination Club. Chan’s works were selected by the Contemporary Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition, Art Exhibition of China. In 1998 and 2001, he won several awards from the Juries Exhibition of the Federation of Canadian Artists in Canada.
